A cricket match between India and Pakistan in August.

This has a history far longer that I can recall.
We had a Hindu & a Muslim on our team when I worked for BT back in the 1970s/1980s.
Got on well with both of them individually, where they would quite happily talk about their backgrounds - the Hindu represented his country in Hockey for the 1952 Olympics and won a gold medal, I seem to remember. but they had serious hate for each other, so much so that there were months when they wouldn't even be in the same room as each other.
As far as I remember, them both joining the team was the first they knew of each other's existence, but the hatred was clear from the beginning.

India beat Pakistan at cricket
A few people went out to celebrate and started chanting 'Pakistan murdabad ' which roughly means 'death to Pakistan' and it all booted off from there.
Sporting rivalry with a massive amount of endemic racism (actual racism, not the modern definition of it) - that's about it
